Shannon was born and raised in the small town of Hazel Green in Kentucky and grew up appreciating the art of music. Driven to serve his nation, Shannon decided to then join the US Navy July 1994 and served as Corpsman in two combat deployments in Iraq. Serving valiantly in Iraq in 2003 with 2nd Battalion 1st Marines and again in 2004, the budding artist gained much life-altering experience.
Shannon’s music is a reflection of his journey with the armed forces. It is relatable for those struggling with severe trauma and is meant to be a message of hope to all those battling tough times. With his emotionally charged singles such as "Frustrated" and "Not Alone," Shannon Book wishes to use authentic and raw storytelling to heal people with his music. His song "Let Me Fix Myself" is quintessential of his music and messages, an anthem that reflects o his struggle with PTSD while giving hope to the listeners for winning the fight against trauma.
Inspired by Aaron Lewis ad Stevie Ray Vaughn's likes, Shannon's immediate plans for the future include crafting an acoustic album "Broken Down" and releasing its singles one at a time. He also intends to build a band and commence music tours. He has performed his music at Veteran events and Non-Profits and played the closing ceremonies at the Invictus Games 2016 in Orlando, Florida with his former band Vetted!
