San Tong has over 17 years of experience in marketing and advertising. For many years, San’s passion has been to build better conditions for enabling under/represented voices and communities to be heard and seen in the film, media, and entertainment industries. In recent years, San has been worked toward social media expertise and creates social media strategies to build engaged communities within the digital space for numerous brands. Currently she leads social media for the COVID-19 testing and vaccine company, Curative. San has also been actively engaged in producing independent film projects, such as her film "Bordering on Treason" thar tells stories from the Iraq War, that have been neglected by mainstream media. San is involved with the Asian American film, visual and performing arts community. From 2001 to 2006, San was
deeply involved in the New York theater and arts community through her involvement with Mangotribe, an APIA women’s performing group with a mission to educate and advocate against violence against women in her community. When San moved to Los Angeles in 2007 from New York City and she began volunteering with the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, where she found a home amongst filmmakers, community organizers, actors, and writers. San was able to cultivate an amazing circle of collaborators and colleagues in the Asian American media community. San is a board member for the Center for Pacific Asian American Family which provides relief to people experiencing domestic and sexual violence. Her non-profit experience also includes her past role as chairperson of the "Conversations Committee" for ThinkLA, whose mission is to promote Los Angeles as a leading center of creativity and innovation in media, marketing, and advertising. In addition, San has been an active volunteer and fundraiser for
School on Wheels, 826LA, as well as Kitt Crusaders.
