I am an enthusiastic optimist who believes in a bright future and in our ability to build it together uniting science, AI and technology.

My mission is to make it happen without compromising the inherent humanity in all of us, helping people to drive the next generation of business models ecosystems through Fintechs, AI, Digital Ecosystems and Commerce.

My history as CEO, President, Board Member, Investor - and as former Rakuten, eBay/PayPal, Naspers, BNPParibas, Citibank give me an unique perspective to help everyone on this mission.

🏦 In banking business since 1994.

🇫🇷 Project Head that established BNP Paribas Personal Finance Brazil in 2002 (I created the first online consumer credit product in 2006, developed for the JV with Submarino.com)

🛒🏦 Member of the builders team of Submarino Finance: the first joint venture between a bank and an online pure player in Brazil established in 2006. The instant credit card issuing linked to a loyalty program was key to the JV traction.

💰Passionate about payments, joined BuscaPé in 2007 to create BuscaPe Financial Services (BFS). Along PagSeguro (PAGS) and MercadoPago (MELI), the BCash/PayU were the true pioneers of the Brazilian paytech market - and the first ones to issue a credit card for BCash users in 2008. BFS was one of the foundations that led Brazil’s Buscape’s Exit to Naspers in 2009.

🛍 Had the privilege to be the first employee of eBay in Latin America back in 2009, leading the establishment of PayPal subsidiaries in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina.

🏦 In 2013, in the VC industry, initiated talks for CiaShop exit to TOTVS in 2013 and MoIP exit to Wirecard in 2016. After an advisory role to the Wizard Martins Family Office, served as CEO of Rakuten Brazil and Rakuten South America Executive Officer until October 2019.
