It’s 2021 and still only 12% of children’s literature depict BIPOC characters. Our children are worthy of seeing themselves normalized in the books they read.
As a mother/Author/Literary Change Advocate, 🇯🇲 I am the creator and host of Read With Carylee on YouTube. Many have called Read With Carylee the next Reading Rainbow ❤📚💜🤸🏽‍♀️. Giving children’s authors the opportunity to showcase their stories, with read-alouds to our audience.
I have a passion for changing the status quo when it comes to children’s literature. Let’s bring recognition for self-published authors and diverse children’s literature, higher, together.
