An Ordinary Delusion
The choice, my friend,
was always there.
To breathe fire
every night,
from telly
straight into that belly,
and fight
strawman demons,
uninterrupted, inside.
Or
to wake up
from the dream
delusional, gasping for air
clear enough to reveal
an emperor with helluva spiel
but no clothes.
Each one of us, it’s true
will choose our own hill,
But it’s not too late I hope, my friend,
to take the red pill.
