‘Proyecto IRIS’ is my attempt of communicating my mother’s legacy through art.

My goal is to create a positive change in the world in her name, thus making her inmortal.

The story:
When my Mom passed away I kinda lost my orientation. For one year I shut down and didn’t speak much, but I found an outlet in songwriting and wrote lots of songs about how I felt and how angry I was with the world.

After a year I decided to publish these songs.

It seems that people resonated with the topic, more and more people started following the project and reached out to me sharing their own stories of how they overcame different types of losses in their lives.

I decided to turn this into a community (so far Spanish-speaking).

People received it very well and started helping each other by sharing their stories with each other. I learned so much from everyone and am extremely thankful for that.

Today there are thousands of testimonials of people saying that interacting in our community really helped them to move forward. I’m really overwhelmed with all the positive energy that we were able to ‘release’ coming from such sad events...

Now I’m trying to lift the community to the next level and be able to provide not only ‘emotional’ support but also financially.

In January 2021 we did our first crowdfunding project and managed to raise almost 10k USD to support 324 families with food packages (for 10 days) in Lima, Peru.

Currently, I’m learning all I can about NFTs to figure out if we could raise more funds this way and help even more people.

P.S.: Wearing a mask because when I started out I felt people would judge me and it gave me more confidence speaking without filters. Now it became kind of the representative symbol of our community.
