Bio
🌇 NYC resident for 30 years, usually on the West Side (better trains). Also have a home in the Catskill Mountains in upstate NY 🏔 Currently entering year two of full-time escape thanks to COVID-19. 🤷
🎭 I love theater and know a lot about Broadway. I’ve been a fan since I discovered what a diva is at the tender age of 10ish thanks to library-loaned vinyl featuring 🌟🌟🌟 like Patti, Betty and Bernadette.
✍️ I’ve been the Editor-in-Chief of Broadway.com since the day it started in 2000. I’ve had the opportunity to make amazing things, interview fantastic talents and lead a team of talents and am extremely grateful. Watch ten years of my talk show, “Show People with Paul Wontorek” on YouTube.
📺 I also produce, write and direct for television. That Sondheim 90th birthday concert with Meryl, Audra and Baranski plus 🍷? I directed that. I also won an NY Emmy Award for writing the script to a Tony Awards special. And I’m on the new weekly syndicated TV show “Broadway Profiles.” (Check local listings!)
