How do you think the rise in Black artists recently has affected gallery programming, museum shows, prices in the art world?
I hope it has opened the eyes of the art world in a manner that provides a sustainable and functioning marketplace for black artists. I am encouraged by the notoriety and long overdue recognition many black artists are receiving I just hope the entire ecosystem maintains this trajectory with a diversity focus and doesnβt allow it to lapse over time. Black artist have always been here, we just got some βnewβ folks who may see this time as an opportunity.
How do you see yourself as a collector?
I see my self more as a builder than a collector now. Meaning, yes I collect, but my ultimate goal is to build a fantastic story through art to share with the world.
