BIOGRAPHY

STEVEN SNYDER was a most unusual kid and grew up to be a most unusual man. He learned to read when he was two. When he was twelve he created a unique accelerated reading and study program, he called AlphaLearning. He started by teaching his friends and at fifteen he began teaching his first class for money. He has been teaching AlphaLearning professionally for almost sixty years in over 100 countries around the world.

In 1988 he began working with the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and in 1990 he began his association with TEC: The Executive Committee. A highly valued speaker for TEC and Vistage International, the word's largest CEO organization, Steve has presented to over 2,000 groups. He was honored as their International Speaker of the Year in 2003, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011, and became one of only seven recipients of the coveted Millennium Award in 2014.

Along with Michael Benner he hosted the Breakthrough Radio Show, created a series of over 200 Personal Empowerment Audio Programs available for free at www.PEN.Tools

Steve sits on the Board of Directors of Learning Forum International, who along with QLN and SuperCamp have integrated Steve's accelerated reading and learning methods into the programs and trainings that they present to students and teachers world-wide.

Steven was married (in 1999 for the first and only time) to Teresa Allred. A beautiful and accomplished woman, Teresa was the co-owner and CEO of Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing Inc., the nation’s largest licensed manufacturer of aircraft parts. Teresa and her brother sold their business and retired in 2006. Steve now spends most of his time together with Teresa and their two Golden Retrievers developing their seventy acre tropical fruit farm on their beautiful piece of paradise in Lower Nahiku, on the North Shore of Eastern Maui near Hana.
