Memorialize The Movement is a grassroots organization dedicated to the preservation of protest art in the Twin Cities.
⭐️We are an organization dedicated to the collection, preservation, and accessibility of the plywood murals that were created in response to the murder of George Floyd and the protests that followed in Minneapolis during the summer of 2020.
⭐️Our goal is to ensure that these plywood murals are preserved as historic artifacts and remain accessible to Black communities in the Twin Cities and around the world.
⭐️Memorialize The Movement was created by 👸🏾Leesa Kelly in June of 2020.
⭐️Over the last 18 months we have collected over 1000 painted plywood panels & raised over $63k in grants/donations!
⭐️Featured in the New York Times and NPR
