Born in Tokyo 🇯🇵and having spent half my life in London🇬🇧, I am the mother of a 16 year old boy and a 12 year old girl. Before my children were born, I produced cooking shows that aired on the Food Channel, run by a company called Imagica, which I planned, filmed, edited and navigated myself. In other words, before the advent of YouTube, it was like being a Youtuber.
Now, I produce cooking videos for my mother, Yoko Arimoto, developing products and branding for the La Base kitchenware range. As well as planning, managing, designing and creating content for

My grandfather was born into a family with a long history of miso and soy sauce brewing, known as "Igeta Hayashi", established in 1793. So from an early age I grew up familiar with the taste of soy sauce from Aizu in the Northeast of Japan.
My hobbies include baking sourdough bread, learning science using molecular models, exploring philosophy and learning Italian.
I have been lucky enough to have a network of mothers of children with developmental personalities, driven by the fact that my own children have Selective Mutism. Encouraging and supporting each other 🤗, not only for the sake of my own children but also for the sake of the children in our society which has become one of my life's work.
"La Base" is an essential tool for multi-tasking mothers like me and everyone else who does home-cooking. La Base Kitchenware has always been and will always be committed to quality first and having entirely made in Japan products 🇯🇵.
