Michael is a highly sought-after Grammy Award winning producer, writer, instrumentalist and arranger from Detroit, Michigan. Music has always been a major part of his life. From an early age he played instruments, recorded and composed music and learned to love everything with a beat, tune or melody.
His list of musical accomplishments reads like a who’s who of major artists and performers. From his first professional experience as a pianist for superstar Jennifer Holliday, to work with Professor Herman Harris, Thomas Whitfield, Fred Hammond, Douglas Miller, Dorinda Clark Cole, Commissioned, George Clinton, Bishop Paul Morten and the Full Gospel Fellowship Choir, LJ Reynolds, Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, Motown legend Diana Ross, Gospel legend Yolanda Adams and R&B stars Coko and Tyrese, he has made his mark across the music industry.
His broad work across the industry with Motown hit makers Holland and Holland, The Dramatics, Four Tops, The Temptations, Thomas Whitfield, Keith Washington, Slum Village make him a collaboration favorite of some of the top names in the industry.
Michael’s work with Aretha earned him a Grammy Award in 2006 for a tribute to Luther Vandross – recording “A House Is Not a Home,”
No stranger to high-profile projects and opportunities, Michael was tapped to be the musical director for the play “Selma” working with executive producers Redd Foxx and Tommy Butler. In 2012, Sony Pictures brought him in on the set of the film “Sparkle” to teach leading actress Jordin Sparks how to play the piano.
Throughout his career Mindingall has continually honed his skills, working as an in-demand session recording musician and as a mainstay on a number of national concert tours.
