Albert Mares-Chahia Jr. (born May 30, 1992), otherwise known as LB, is a recording artist and M.C. from the Coachella Valley in Southern California. He is the proud descendant of rapper Chingon—one half of the late ‘90s / early 2000s latin hip-hop duo known as 5th Sun. LB cites his father as one of his biggest influences, along with the likes of Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Biggie Smalls, 2Pac, and many more.
His alias stems from a nickname given to him in high school, which stands for “Live Brave,” something he strives to do every day. He’s amassed a slew of features and collaborative mixtapes since first embracing the rap game, beginning around 2010—including the ‘Third Eye’ mixtape with Xpression the MC in 2012; the ‘Broken Pieces’ datpiff mixtape with BLVK DMND in 2014; and an upcoming 5-song EP with Xpression in late 2020. He’s also collaborated with M.C. Infinite, Nolan LowLife, Oz, Zill, and a handful of producers. He’s currently working on a side project with his father, Chingon, which will include a variety of guest artists.
