Juan Carlos Fajardo Jr.—a.k.a. Xpression—hails from Indio, California, home of the iconic Coachella music festival. His development as an MC began at the age of ten, when he would rap Bible verses in order to memorize scripture at Christian school. He was eventually presented with the ‘Creativity Award’ for his original songs and performances. His first recordings were created in a makeshift closet studio; using a webcam mic and his mother’s computer. According to his Google bio, his peers nicknamed him the “Mexican Eminem” due to his rapid-fire spitting, genuine story-telling, and lyrical wordplay. He is also the self-proclaimed “Hannibal Lecter” of hip-hop.

Xpression’s website bio describes how the August 2015 biopic, Straight Outta Compton, inspired him to take his music to the next level, relentlessly pursuing connections within the industry. He eventually garnered attention from Ruthless Records co-founder Jerry Heller who connected him with Grammy Award-nominated producer Ronnie King. Sadly, Jerry passed away in 2016, before their first project was completed—but the seed was planted. The pair have completed a handful of records, and Xpression has gone on to work alongside such artists as Mellow Man Ace, KXNG Crooked, Bizzy Bone, Cyhi The Prynce, Cassidy, King Los, Jag, Bizarre of D12, Locksmith, The Grouch, Zion I, Kid Vishis, Don Michael Jr., Derrek Wright a.k.a. “Baby EZ,” Castro Escobar, Chino XL, Lady Luck, X-Raided, Peter Dante and many more. Many of these artists are featured on Xpression’s September 2019 studio album, The Write Path.

When he’s not rapping, writing songs, or performing activism in his community, Xpression works as a photographer/videographer and continues developing his Kryptic Reign Music label.
