Kuzzat Altay is a leading Uyghur American businessman, tech entrepreneur, and human rights activist. After arriving in the United States as a refugee in 2008 with no English and few contacts, Altay taught himself how to code and became a respected automation developer for companies like Inovalon, Fannie Mae, CGI, and Accenture, where he worked the rollout of Obamacare project.
In 2015, Altay founded CYDEO, a tech education company that teaches over 5000 students across 23 countries from coding to cybersecurity.
As a leading figure in the Uyghur American community, Altay founded the Uyghur Entrepreneurs Network in 2018, dedicated to raising awareness on Uyghur issues through business and community empowerment. He also founded the first Uyghur American Community Center in Fairfax, Virginia, a hub for community organizing, political lobbying, and cultural education.
Forced to cut his post-secondary education short as a young man in China, Altay resumed his academic journey by completing the General Management Program at Harvard Business School Executive Education in 2019.
In 2019, Altay has been elected as President of Uyghur American Association, the largest organization representing the interests of ethnic Uyghurs in America, and serving his three-year term.
