Kuan Cien 光前 (he/him) is a multi-faceted producer and arts manager with over 14 years of professional experience working across disciplines and contexts. Since 2001, he has assisted/ produced for Alvin Tan, Charlie Lim, Daniel Kok, deufert&plischke, Hiroaki Umeda, Java Dance Theatre, Margaret Leng Tan, Melvyn Tan, Ong Keng Sen, SAtheCollective, Vertical Submarine and many other artists.

In 2019, he was awarded the NAC Arts Scholarship, as well as attended Producers’ Academy 4 during Kunstenfestivaldesarts and Cross Currents by the Edinburgh International Festival. In 2017, with Pearlyn Cai he co-initiated Producers SG, a community network for independent producers, arts managers and artists. In 2012, he partook in the Visiting Fellows Program by The Saison Foundation.

His core interests are presently in artists’ labour markets, cultural policy, interdisciplinary works and performance in public space. He seeks to champion the cultural value of the arts, advocating for artists and enabling the conditions in which they create.
