BIO:
Kara brings a unique approach to PR and marketing by working one-on-one with clients to help them build and implement successful PR strategies. Kara also counsels clients about crisis communications and helps them write strategies that outlines their plan for handling a crisis should one arise. Kara is very successful in garnering media attention for her clients. Her clients range from small business owners, to travel and tourism, to advocacy organizations to political candidates.
She served as the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Brock School of Business at Samford University for more than 10 years where she led the team that re-branded of the business school. She also helped Samford University overcome two social media crises.
Kara worked in Washington, D.C. in crisis communications for the American Red Cross National Office, and was living in DC during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Kara has been trained in incident management communications by FEMA.
Kara also is the publisher of the online magazine Inspired Southerner.
