I'm a 61 year old, totally blind guy with a hearing impairment. I use a Cochlear Implant hearing aid system in my left ear. If I seem a bit socially out of sync, that's why? So the hearing impairment compounded by the reception of the data stream sometimes temporarily corrupting, there's a bit of a lag at times.
