I am a native of Prince Edward County, VA who currently resides on St. Helena Island, SC. The first in my immediate family to attend college, I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics Education from Virginia State University, the Master of Education Degree from Cambridge College, the Certificate of Higher Education Leadership from South Carolina Technical College System and the Doctor of Education Degree (ED.D.) from Walden University.
My professional career includes more than 30 years in education at the secondary and higher education levels. I served in the capacity of a substitute teacher, a teacher’s assistant, and twelve years as a mathematics instructor. After providing 21 years of dedicated service, I retired on June 30, 2018, from the Technical College of the Lowcountry, having previously served in various capacities in Student Services since 1997.
Seeking to need to share my story with the world, I entered the public speaking industry where my “Dare to Break Free” movement emphasizes education as the key to success, empowerment for those who may have been victimized, and personal freedom for individuals with disabilities and other strongholds. My calling is to speak to provide encouragement and motivation to individuals with wounded spirits and to those who may have lost hope or direction. It is my life’s mission to be the difference that makes a difference in the lives of others!
Most importantly, understanding that all things are possible through Christ, I strive to be a better Christian every day and is a long-standing active member at Bethesda Christian Fellowship. Additionally, I am an active member of the Nu Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated having attained Life membership, and Silver Star status and is a member of the Graduate Advisory Board. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 39 years, and we are the proud parents of one adult son.

Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
