๐ Spent 17 years running a semi online travel agency in the Maldives Islands. Saw a hardship faced by smaller agents getting access to availability and competitive rates. With the interest in coding, developed a simple cloud MVP to connect hotels with agents for real-time availability and confirmations. Over the years this developed into a fully fledged Travel agency management platform.
๐ฑ In 2015, while OTA's was at their peak into our market and the interest in travel tech, totally devoted my time to convert into a SaaS platform, Openhotelier (OH). The platform cater Travel startups and empower traditional Retail & Wholesale Travel agents, Tour Operators.
๐ With 6 tough years in the Maldives market, we have now found the best product market fit. This pivot will entirely disrupt the wholesale accommodation distribution sector.
