Dwayne Gott was born on September 28, 1960 in Brooklyn, New York. He is the youngest of three children raised in his home. He also has a younger Sister and brother that lived in Oklahoma. He lived with his mother and father and older sisters in the Brownsville community.
Dwayne developed a love for music as he studied and played instruments in junior high school. His parents encouraged him to follow his dreams in music. He decided to join a band called “Hot Ice”.that performed in school talent shows in and around the Brooklyn area. Hot Ice matured in his high school years and decided to change the band’s name to Kingdom in 1975. They became a musical sensation playing at block parties, banquets, local night clubs, hired for weddings and birthday parties. They collaborated with well-known groups like Full Force, The Force MD’s, Grand Master Flash, and Paula Bryant. The band played together for fifteen years and traveled the Tri-State area they were also invited to play in South Carolina.
Dwayne began to see the fruit of his labor immediately as God began to bless him in the ministry. Dwayne received several accolades playing for the Love Fellowship Tabernacle Church Choir, and then the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir under the direction of Bishop Hezekiah Walker. Bishop Hezekiah Walker is a two time Grammy Award winner and has also been nominated and winner of several other awards.
Dwayne continued to be encouraged and took an active role in the music ministry. He traveled the country with Bishop Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Choir. His musical career was in full swing recording and performing with Gospel greats such as John P. Kee ,Kim Burrell, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary , Donnie McClurkin , BB Winans , Marvin Sapp and Many other great gospel artists.
Dwayne’s bass playing gifts were heard on the Grammy Award winning CD “Love is Live” as well as some other great Bishop Walkers recordings.
Dwayne is now working on his Second project that was blessed and ordained by God and supported by Bishop Walker and the congregation. His first release “Help Me To Pray” and his sophomore release "Thank You Lord" are headed for Gospel success.
