Kwabena Asomaning, Owner of Goldsense Ghana is a Jewellery business leader with over 20 years working experience spanning, gold refinery, assaying, smelting, Jewellery fabrication, gem setting, training, research and writing.
Kwabena is a second generation jeweller with his apprenticeship under his Jewellery Lecturer-Dad, starting as early as his 12th birthday, through his High School days.
Even though he had gathered enough bench experience from the family jewellery business, he still chose to enroll in the four year jewellery program at Ghana’s Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 1996.
A naturally gifted speaker and teacher, Kwabena has taught alloy calculation and designing as well as offered workshops in piercing, soldering, casting, handmade chains etc.
Aside these, he has also delivered several seminar topics in Ghana and Nigeria.
For years, Kwabena has argued for a right set of synergy between human resource development and the vast gold and gem resources. He believes that a development of the downstream gold industry cannot be overemphasized hence his passion for skills training.
He co-founded the Pan African Jewellers Association with Nihma Ibironke Oduniyi, a Jeweller from Nigeria and Longo Mulaisho-Zinsner, a UK based Zambian Jeweller to create the adequate awareness for African gem and jewellery professionals.
Kwabena is a high energy sports fan, an active lawn tennis player and horse rider.
He studied for PGD in Education at Nigeria's Nasarawa State University and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Jewellery from KNUST, Ghana.
