Bio

For more than 20 years, Ghana O. Wilson has worked in the field of event production, marketing, talent relations and public relations. Through her company, Green Gigz, Inc., Wilson has consulted with REVOLT Media and TV LLC, ABFF Ventures, the National Football League (NFL), ASPIRE TV, Dutch Masters, Race Forward and the Turks and Caicos Board of Tourism is ideating producing and managing live events, activations and experiences such as the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Miami Film Life Center, ABFF Honors, ABFF Strikes, NFL Pro Hollywood Boot Camp, TNT’s Black Movie Awards and the 4th annual Turks and Caicos International Film Festival. Wilson also produces events with an emphasis on conservation, sustainability and the environment for a variety of nonprofits and corporate clients.
Prior to founding Green Gigz, Wilson served as the Director of Special Events for the National Hemophilia Foundation and the American Diabetes Association, where she was responsible for overseeing the organizations’ $3 million event budgets, and conceptualizing and developing signature special events for the not-for-profit foundations. She also served for eight years as the Director of Communications and Marketing for the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation, where she developed and managed national outdoor media and public health awareness campaigns, website production and design, and national partnerships between the foundation and national consumer brands. A former Newsweek researcher/reporter and Howard University alumna, Wilson has handled the public relations and marketing campaigns for a range of celebrity clients, among them Eddie Murphy, Miles Davis, Wesley Snipes, Chris Rock, Adidas America, Vanessa Williams, P. Diddy, Bill Bellamy, Sinbad, Doug E. Fresh and Dikembe Mutombo. Wilson is affiliated with or serves on the advisory boards of various organizations, including Multicultural Media Correspondents Association, Seeds of Africa, Inc., GEMS (Girls Education Mentoring Services), Live Events Coalition, NABJ, and BPRS.
