Music & technology with a career spanning decades, a veteran producer/engineer and musician reflecting those two central themes from Milwaukee, WI.
At age 16, Tanin had already laid the foundation for his calling when he landed a record deal with Odessa Records, recording his original material.
While attending the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee during the early 70's, Tanin apprenticed as an audio engineer at ARCO Recording Studios where he studied the Art and Science of audio recording and production. In the mid 70s he released the critically acclaimed, self-produced concept album Otto & The Elevators. In the early 80's he foresaw the unique possibility of combining newly emerging computer technology with music. He produced dozens of artists during the 70s and 80s.
In 2006 Tanin worked with Roger Powell to produced a retro-futuristic, groove oriented, solo flight entitled Fossil Poets. In the 70’s and 80’s Roger’s groundbreaking electronic synthesizer albums Cosmic Furnace (Atlantic) and Air Pocket (Bearsville) were hailed as masterworks. As Powell went on to create otherworldly synth textures for Todd Rundgren and Utopia he was held in high esteem by his peers. “Even among the keyboard titans of the prog-rock Seventies, Roger Powell always stood out.” (Future Music U.S. Ed.- June 2006)
