My name is Eslam Sabry Ahmed. I was born Egyptian but I believe that I’m a part of a bigger world than Egypt and even bigger than the universe.
Currently, I’m a physics masters student at Nagoya University(NU), Japan. I am a member of Tanaka&Kawaguchi group at NU, mainly working on low dimensional materials and topological materials. When I was an undergrad, I was a member of the elementary particles theory group at NU. Before that, I was a student at STEM High School for Boys in 6 October City, Egypt.
I have too many interests and hobbies; however, I’m bad at all of them. My main hobbies are:
- laying in bed 24 hours a day
- reading: mainly dystopian, psychological, philosophical, drama, mystery, thriller, horror, romance novels. You might think I read everything but I’m really picky.
- Anime 😀 ok, that makes me weird now
- writing, I think you’ve guessed it already
- music: listening and playing, tried composing before but I suck at it.
- overthinking about everything no matter big or small.
I’m also a science geek. I find a plethora of things very interesting. my interests include but not limited to:
- Symmetry in mathematics and physics: Lie groups and Lie algebras, etc. and I find differential geometry cool too.
I also like lower dimensional models since they are exactly solvable and have interesting mathematical properties.
Recently, I’m reading about supersymmetry and conformal symmetry in 2 dimensions cuz it’s cool lol.
Also, I like things like phase transitions and critical behavior, universality, and renormalization group.
- Neuroscience: consciousness and quantum models, neural networks, integration and neural plasticity.
- biology: photosynthesis and energy production, microbiology, cell biology, genetics, mutation and quantum effects.
That’s toooooooo much for one person but I guess that’s how I’m. That’s what makes me me!. anyway, guys, I guess you’re bored by now so I’ll stop here.
