Bio

Eric "E-Baby" Smith [a writer since he was young] began to take his writing to the stage in 1998; since then, he’s opened for R&B artists Musiq Soul Child, Me’Shell N’degeOcello, & Lyfe Jennings to name a few. After joining Jus Wiggin Entertainment in 1999 [agent: Tracy Wiggs], his “1 Poet Poetical Tour” reached over 150 colleges & universities across the US. In 2014, he was named the Spokenword Billboard Award’s Hot100 Top Ranking Artist of the Year. In 2016, he received Best Poet at the DMV Underground Awards.

He has two CDs [“My Thoughts Are In This Ink” & "Inktoxicated"] and a book of haiku poetry ["HAIKU-N-U"]. E-Baby's performed on numerous cable programs and radio shows, educated conferences and entertained festivals, and hosted numerous poetry events [currently hosting every 4th Wednesday of the month on Busboys and Poets IG LIVE (@busboysandpoets) -&- when we open back up, every 4th Thursday of the month at Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville, MD.]

Also, as an employee of the U.S. Copyright Office, at the Library of Congress, he preaches the importance of Copyright and gives out information on how to properly register your work.

Eric’s currently taking intermediate acting classes in the Tasha Smith Actor’s Workshop; mentored by comedian Michael Colyar.
