Dr. Shelly L. Mathewis is a Human Resource Senior Leader. Shelly successfully originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that provide employee-oriented; high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards; goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. Strong at building internal and external partnerships, Shelly provides business leadership and consultation in all areas of Human Resource including, but not limited to recruiting, performance management, on-boarding, leadership development, diversity and inclusion and cultural change initiatives.
Shelly implements people and organizational solutions from an organizational viewpoint and measure/monitor the needs of employees through effectively building and developing relationships across all levels of the organization. She utilizes analytics to address and understand organizational dynamics to align with the business environment, implementing and refining long and short term continuous improvement activities while managing the day to day tactical issues and requirements.
As an Adjunct Professor she successfully develops the objectives, syllabus and course outlines including learning objectives and outcomes. She teaches a diverse population of traditional students, working adults and returning students with a wide variety of educational backgrounds and experiences. She instructs all higher education levels via both traditional classroom and online, as well as serves on committees for doctoral dissertations.
Shelly received her Bachelors of Arts in Communications, her Masters of Arts in Communications and Organizational Management specializing in Human Resources, and her Doctoral Degree in Organizational Development and Leadership with specialization in Human Resource and Corporate Training and E-Learning.
Shelly developed and facilitates a six-session interactive Leadership Development Series that focuses on: Understanding Your Leadership Style, The Seven Most Common Mistakes Leaders Make (and how to correct them), Leading Across Generations and Diversity, Bringing Out the Best in Your Teams, Leading Through Change, and Resolving Conflict and Other Difficult Situations.
