I am a yoga +meditation steward, speaker, the co creatrix of Legendary Yoga & Wellness, “Tha Legendary” DJ Seriousblack, former monk, physical and biological anthropologist, physio therapist , Clinical Ayurvedic practitioner, crossroads mama, wife and mother.


Guided by my ancestors and my guides I volunteer for life,unapologetically black.

Devotion is my spiritual liberation.

After 27 years teaching, I still refer to myself as a student.

I am from Montreal (Quebec, Canada) via Trinidad, et oui je parle francais.

I am the daughter of a black man and an desi/venezuelan/french woman, we are from Trinidad. I am a 70’s kid, I am an Aquarius.

Trinidad made me, Montreal, Toronto and Brooklyn raised me. Sometimes I rhyme slow; sometimes I rhyme quick…

I’m a lover of all things soulful and analog. I love sneakers, vinyls, sci-fi, and street art aka graffiti;
Authors? Octavia, Nikki, Zora, Maya, Angela, Zadie, VS Naipaul… the revolution will not be televised.

I love road trips, 90s rap and hip hop culture, rose petal oat milk lattes and slow quiet mornings living in the country looking out my window. SLOW LIVING.

I am also the forerunner of embracing chaos and how to do that without losing your shit. Yes I cuss, it’s good for clearing your throat chakra and to make sure everyone’s listening, to quote Lauryn Hill ” And I add a muthafucka, so the ignorant n***as hear me”. I think seven times and speak once.

Making my life a ritual are the practices that bring me back to myself, the passions of my life. Asé O 🧿
