➡️ The work of the Accessibility Bridge Corporation centers around our mission which is to provide wraparound supports to people with #disabilities who are seeking higher levels of #independence and #inclusion in areas of education, housing, employment, relationships, athletics, and social skills.
➡️ Professional experiences (prior to founding my own nonprofit) include 9 years at Georgetown University in the Office of Advancement and 2 years at Catholic Charities as a Major Gift Officer 💵.
➡️Over 14 years of nonprofit administrative, front line fundraising, program management, managerial and Executive experience.
➡️ Board member at both the community and state levels; most to advocate and support people with disabilities.
➡️ Council member on The Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council where members are appointed by the Governor to establish the priorities of the Council and help guide the Council’s work.
➡️ Accessibility editor for the Maryland State Arts Council.
➡️ I have an amazing son with autism and an intellectual disability who is a US Paralympian and medalist 🏊🏾🇺🇸. I teach him to advocate for himself and I focus on advocacy for people who are differently-abled and their families.
➡️ My goal is to be part of a national systems transformation and propagate consciousness about inclusive practices so that all facets of community life – school, work, social activities – welcome people with developmental disabilities.
