Bio

Deidra (Dee) Hubay is a Marine Corps veteran, capable problem solver, experienced activist, and an avid student with a passion for positive social change.

Deidra is currently a student at Duquesne University pursing a 4+1 program on track to earn her a B.A. in Political Science & Sociology with a focus in Social Justice & Policy, a minor in Peace, Justice, and Conflict Resolution and an M.A. in Applied Sociology also with a focus on Social Justice and Policy.

Since attending Duquesne, Deidra has consecutively earned the distinction of the Dean’s List and actively serves her campus in community through multiple facets. Currently, Deidra serves as President of the Sociology Club, Vice President of Student Against Sexual Violence and the Student Veteran Association, Student Life Committee and Diversity, Identity, and Inclusion Committee Member of the Student Government Association, Student Advisory Committee Member of the North Central Sociological Association, and Student Administrator and Near-Peer Mentor to the Big Idea Team, a workgroup of the Ellisnore-Bennu Think Tank for Restorative Justice of which she is also a member.

Deidra is an astute professional with outstanding leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. She hopes to take the knowledge, insight, and experience she earns through her academic studies and community involvement to create a more equitable and just society for all. ✊
