Bridget McKinney, Principal with the 4th largest school district in Miami Dade County, has 27 years of proven leadership. Bridget is a dedicated, resourceful professional with proven ability to;
• create and monitor policies and practices that promote a safe learning environment;
• ensure a school culture that encourages continuous improvements for teachers and students;
• develop an environment that encourages open communication with colleagues, students, and the community;
• mentor educators in the creation and implementation of classroom instruction, lesson plans, and student assessment in conjunction with state learning regulations.
For several decades, Bridget has been among the most visible activists for educationally marginalized populations. To this end, she has been directly involved in revolutionizing education and mobilizing urban communities and leaders to provide innovative literacy programs.
Bridget McKinney is also a member of the esteemed Scientific Advisory Committee for the American Red Cross, a group of experts who ensure what's taught is based on the latest and best in emergency science.
She was named one of South Florida’s Top Black Educators in 2016, African American Achievers Award Nominee 2017, and inducted in the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council in 2019.
Bridget serves as the President and CEO of PSWAP-Mentorship and Swim Organization, Inc., founded in 2014 aimed at preventing drownings among children ages 1- 14.
