Project Assistant Professor at University of Tokyo.
Aurora is an applied linguist interested in intersections between language, race, and identity. Her research explores the types of linguistic and racial ideologies that marginalize and exclude multiracial/multiethnic individuals, as well as the discourse strategies used to destabilize covert racial discourse.
Aurora is also heavily active in the Hafu Ladies Community, organizing regular reading circles, film screenings, and language exchanges.
For fun, Aurora used to be an avid swing dancer. These days she spends most her time balancing work and caring for her one year old daughter.
