Amir A Etemadzadeh is a Middle Eastern musician, instructor, performer, and composer. Born and raised in Iran, he received extensive musical education from various masters in playing Persian and Middle Eastern music and drumming. After arriving in the US in 2003 he expanded his portfolio to include world music drums. Amir continued his music education by attending UC Santa Cruz in 2012, studying classical composition and arrangement in addition to studying the Clarinet.
Because of his passion for spreading the knowledge and culture he had brought to the US, Amir started Amir School of Music a couple of years after arrival in the U.S. He is proud to have taught Persian and Middle Eastern music to more than 400 students in the last 15 years.
Amir’s collaborations in the U.S. include numerous performances and recordings with various known musicians and music groups such as Ethel String Quartet, Hafez Modirzadeh, Ramin Zoufonoun, Miriam Pretz, Qadim Ensemble, Silk Road Festival, Cal Poly Middle Eastern Music Orchestra, and many more.
