โจ It all started in 2019 when I began my own hair waving journey.
To wave the hair, is to brush the natural curl flat, creating a "wave-like" pattern. When looking for inspiration, I noticed the lack of representation in Black Women.
Founded January 2020, WavyWMN is the LARGEST community of Black Women wavers in the world ๐
Our mission is to โcelebrate and educate Black Women Wavers, and the world around us. Helping to shift conversations and narratives around the beauty that is Natural Hair.โ
Because if hair is the canvas, waves are just the paint ๐
Since our 2020 launch, our message has traveled to over 20 countries and 5 continents across the globe.
Weโve had a number of virtual and in-person community events, such as holiday clothing and toy drives, back to school drives, and various conversation series to name a few.
