Iranian-born photographer Alex Golshani documents the visual cacophony of New York City streets by capturing fleeting gestures and charged facial expressions. Golshani’s eclectic reportage—featuring anti-gun activists, cheeky portraits, and subway commuters—are caught unposed and stripped of pretense, allowing them agency in their natural environment. His work, often poetic and shot in the heat of the moment, reflects the candid nature of the observed and the observer in politically charged climates. Golshani works as a photojournalist in NYC, collaborating with editorial publications on long- and short-term human interest projects and exhibiting his work throughout the city. He is a member of BIPOC photography community Diversify Photo. Golshani’s work has recently appeared at The International Center for Photography Museum in NYC, and in New York Magazine.
Alex is available for commissions in the U.S. and abroad.
