Greetings, I am Mama Phatimaat. I am a Pan African spiritualist because of my numerous experiences of initiation into diverse religious traditions. Growing up in the Christian faith as a preacher’s kid, I bore witness to my family’s faith in God as an anchor and safe place. I knew as a child, I would be a preacher, a teacher, and a healer.
My gifts started manifesting through the laying of hands, speaking in tongues, and herbal remedies.
As I blossomed my grandmother identified me as a wise woman like herself.
My family lineage comes from the Gullah Geechee nation on the South Carolina coast where they practice the HooDoo religion.
As I matured into adulthood, I was introduced to African Diaspora spirituality that consisted of yoga, tarot card reading, Native American medicine, Yoruba, VooDoo, Egyptology, Santeria, Obeia, and other ancient traditions culture, and philosophies, .
My personal experience as a promoter in African Arts, my marriage to a Yoruba priest, and research from my travels, books, workshops, and lectures brought me to the revelation that most African diaspora religions from around the world believe in one supreme being. The supreme being has attributes that serve us in the human experience and we must reciprocate by honoring them through spiritual practices with ancestral altars and rituals. I am empowered to teach African Diaspora Spirituality because I’ve sat at the feet of prominent Yoruba priests such as Baba John Mason, Mama Kay Kay, and Baba Olatunji. My mission is to enlighten, elevate, and engage my students through coaching spiritual life techniques. My goal is to empower my students by providing the tools to align with their higher selves on their spiritual journey.
