Conversation & Cornbread brings passionate and diverse thought leaders together to discuss politics, generational wealth/business, and current events to advance the culture over dinner as my ancestors did in my hometown of Seabreeze, NC. 🍽🥂🥬 _________📜The History of Seabreeze📜______ In 1876, my family purchased Seabreeze beach, which was purchased for $1 an acre (2,500). Seabreeze was designed to be waterfront properties for relatives. The city of Seabreeze dubbed Bop City served as a refuge for people of color during Jim Crow and by 1920s the beach had three hotels, a school, a church, dozens of rental cottages, a boat pier, a bingo parlor, a small amusement park, complete with Ferris wheel and ten restaurants. Our family’s restaurants attracted thousands of people from near and afar--some famous--who enjoyed their from scratch kitchens. Seabreeze is rich in history & owners and people associated with Seabreeze want to see it protected and recognized as a site of American historical importance. Currently, my family’s restaurant: The Bishop’s Vault classic collections are at the cornerstone of offering history and mirroring its architecture, timeless aesthetics, modern sensibilities, flavor and great conversation and cornbread.
