A crucible is "a place or situation in which concentrated forces interact to cause or influence change or development." Our goal here is to sort through discursive material and navigate/exhaust the cartography of the psycho/socio-political. A convergence of analytic political philosophy, Black feminism, Black studies, and critical philosophy of race, this space is oriented toward truth-seeking.
No barbershop talk: We don’t try to speak too casually without rigor or accountability. We’re not all perfect or geniuses, but we can strive toward a higher intellectual standard by this regulative ideal. Stay anchored.
Respond appropriately: If you respond to someone in disagreement, make sure the confrontation is clear and relative to what they actually said. Try not to respond to analysis *solely* out of what is your own annoyance.
Throw in some scholarship: Come with some citations if it crosses your mind. We don’t shame academic knowledge as we believe it’s one important aspect of consciousness-raising.
