Education Social Justice on Clubhouse

Description

In order to be a decolonizing, anti-racist, and equitable education professional it takes practice and is best done in a shared effort. ✊ And while "social justice" as a term may feel hollow to many, as does "diversity" in many circles, the objective of this group is to facilitate radical conversations and ideas to benefit our inequitable education system.

Black and brown students and communities are disproportionately affected by the dominant education system. As are international, refugee, queer, trans, (dis)abled, neurodiverse, poor, foster, and traumatized children. When they cannot advocate for themselves it is our responsibility as adults to advocate for them 💪❤️🔥

This club is made for discussions 🗣 on these topics to cover the spectrum of education 🏫issues including, but not limited to, student well-being 🏥, online learning, assessment-based education, arts education 🎭🎨🎷, STEAM, research-based education, teacher education, professional development, constructivism, education policy, and PWIs (predominantly white institutions).

➕Members are encouraged to create rooms that cover dreams we have for our education system as well as practical approaches to rebuilding a more equitable and just education system.
