Welcome to the club.

The original London Indie Filmmakers Group was created in 2002 and ran for many years supporting indie filmmakers and creatives from all backgrounds and abilities in a down to earth, friendly, weekly face to face Meetup at the British Film Institute cafe on the Southbank in London, curated via a Meetup group online of several thousand members from different cultures and backgrounds.

The aim of this club is to expand and restart this group from a Global perspective, and continue its original mission to curate sessions for like minded Passionate & Positive Indie Filmmakers from across the planet to meet, inspire and support each other on their love of films and respective filmmaking journeys.

This is a group for anyone who is interested in or is in the world of INDEPENDENT (INDIE) filmmaking at whatever stage in their careers, namely in conceiving, creating, writing, directing, producing, acting, creating, selling and distributing films. We especially love to focus on INDIE film where passionate folks get together and go against the odds to make a movie by themselves or with lower budgets to entertain the world with their epic movies.

We want to continue our passion to make movies and pass on our knowledge to other people, mentor those less experienced and help new and emerging talent to get onto the filmmaking ladder, learn more, collaborate, pay it forward and to give back to the community and the planet.

RULES:

0. Share progress on film projects (no spamming please) ask questions, get feedback and support, and engage in general discussion about filmmaking, storytelling, gear and films in general.

1. Support the Moderators in helping us run the group usefully, effectively and safely.

2. No harassment will be tolerated, this is an inclusive group for all people of all backgrounds and walks of life.

3. No politics, this is a film group about films and filmmaking

4. If you have an issue with someone please contact the Moderators.

6. Sharing just to cause drama and conflict will not be tolerated.
