Marriage & Divorce are like Horse and Carriage? And you cannot really have one without the other?….
Marriage and divorce are both common experiences in Christianity and many other cultures of the world.
Marriage is ordained of God and so it was from the beginning with Adam and Eve. Healthy marriages are good for couples’ mental and physical health. They are also good for children as growing up in a happy home protects children from mental, physical, educational and social problems.
About 40 to 50 percent of marriages in the United States end up in divorce however. The rate gets even worse during second/ subsequent marriages and is not much different in the Christian community.
While wedding days have been lauded by many as one of life’s happiest, the opposite is often the case with divorce which is life’s second most traumatic experience, trumped only by death of a loved one
This room was created to provide a platform for Christians and others to share their personal “Marriage & Divorce” experiences with a view to learning from one another to avoid making avoidable mistakes, marry right and stay married happily, provide support for dealing with the trauma of divorce and hopefully stem the current rising tides of failed marriages and divorce within the Christian Community.
Are Marriage & Divorce unavoidably like horse and carriage? Or could they be like oil and water?
