The Western Igbo, also known as the people of Anioma, occupy the western part of the Lower Niger, one of the most important cultural and commercial gateways into the African interior.
The Anioma People's Union seeks to exemplify and assert the cultural, anthropological and traditional heritage of this paramount ethno-linguistic sub-group in the affairs of the Igbo nation.
