The best film/tv rooms are the ones where seasoned writers, directors, producers, script coordinators and assistants talk about their journey to the top. This is a room for stories, not advice. Learn from example here. If you have a story to tell, join in. Try not to name names, they might be in the room. Please don’t pitch scripts or ask the best way to get an agent. Hollywood is a crazy small place, let’s connect and share in the misery and joy of trying to make it here.
You don’t have to be big...: but you have to have tried. This room is for the showrunners and the assistants, the directors who used to be interns. Clubhouse levels the conversational playing field. Take advantage of it.
Tea is served, but try not to name names.: This isn’t the place to spread rumors or ruin reputations. It can be a great place to talk about crazy experiences, good and bad. Just keep the precise details to yourself.
If you’re truly green...: Listen, but don’t participate. You can learn a lot from other people’s experiences. Please don’t manipulate a question or a story to self-promote or pitch a project.
