Here we read books, essays, and any other prepared material with a kicker: questions, comments, and interaction with the materials encouraged.

Audiobooks are great and sometimes you do not want to listen to the peanut gallery when washing the dishes, moving around or otherwise are occupied in some other activity.

This is not the place to record your reading of an audio book.

This is a space where we really get into the material, ask what it means to us, talk about how it makes us feel, what it makes us think about. We engage with the material rather than passively consuming it.

Please, feel free to interrupt.
Interruptions should be about the content.: Speak to the content directly, your contributions should not derail the reading. The aim is to flow out of the content and back in, walking a little off the path is great, forging a new path is not.
Interruptions should be concise.: Just because you found that bit interesting doesn't mean it's time for a diatribe. The rest of the people in the room are probably interested in moving forward with the reading. Keep it short.
Discuss, don't debate: This isn't the place to argue with the content, if whats being read isn't appealing to you, take a breath, explore other rooms, we will read other things.
