India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Maldives are the nations that are collectively called South Asia. All these nations came together to form a regional association named SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation). These eight South Asian countries collectively admeasure 5.1 mn sq kms and have a total population of 1.7 bn people contributing more than US$ 12 bn to the global economy.
