From pre-conception thorough postpartum, focusing on the mental health, education and support of planning/trying/new parents and the providers that work with them.

1 in 5 women suffer from a pre/postpartum
mood disorder (but providers don’t always screen because they have nowhere to refer).
1 in 10 men suffer from a pre/postpartum mood disorder (but are often excluded from provider care and underreport because of stigma).
1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss.
Adoptive parents are equally susceptible to postpartum mood disorders.
Licensing boards and grad school programs do not require provider training in perinatal mental health - although they do require sex and sexuality and child development among others. 🤯
