A club for everyone interested in or involved with narrative audio 🎧 - including podcasts🎙radio 📻 sound walks🚶‍♀️or any other creative audio medium... including, um, this one?

We’re here to:

🎤 celebrate and talk about great audio stories and how they’re made
🍿share things in listening sessions
🦧 learn tips/tools/techniques
🐝 lift each other up
❤️ share our love of the craft

(“Narrative audio” here just means the kind of storytelling you might expect to hear in more highly produced/edited podcasts or in a public radio documentary from a place like NPR or the BBC. Those are just two examples and aren’t meant to prescribe anything.)

We launched this club to fill a gap. There are a lot of great clubs for the business side of podcasting; we wanted one dedicated to the art of crafting audio. If you like the sound of that, then this club is for you 🥳 If you’re a narrative audio producer, we also invite you to join our sister Narrative / Documentary Style Podcasters group on Facebook!

8/2021 UPDATE: The administrators created this group with really high hopes, but we sort of overcommitted ourselves, so we unfortunately haven’t had much time to actually organize events. We really want this group to exist as a resource and a gathering place for the narrative audio producer community, however, so we’ve made many of you with radio doc backgrounds group leaders so you can host things on your own. All that we ask is that you invite group administrator Scott Gurian to any events you plan. We’re excited about the possibilities!

By the way, if you’re not already a group leader but would like to be, please drop a line through backchannel to administrator Scott Gurian with some details about your background or interest in narrative audio and the room you’d like to organize.
Please keep focus on narrative audio: There are many other places on Clubhouse to promote your podcast or discuss monetization. The purpose of this club is to talk about the craft that goes into making great documentary style work.
