A CALL TO ACTION IN SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINIANS

As advocates for social justice, journalists, lawyers, human rights defenders, doctors, writers, researchers, social workers, mental health experts, artists, and individual human beings we must answer the call to action from Palestinians who are undergoing bombardment, blockade, denial of health care, water, electricity, shelter, and protection in Gaza, as well as the systematic ethnic cleansing and brutalization in Sheikh Jarrah and the rest of Jerusalem, West Bank and Arab cities in historical Palestine. The ongoing onslaught on defenceless civilians pushed us to breaking points. Hundreds of thousands took the streets around the globe to demand an end to 73 years of generational oppression and dispossession. Many of us are asking what can we do to help the defiant Palestinians in their struggle? How can we help dismantle the apartheid and the settler colonial occupation of Palestinian lands? How can we capitalize on the growing intersectional solidarity across the globe?

This is a space for everyone to join forces and resources to take action for social change beyond symbolism-- especially for Palestinians living in diaspora and exile. This could be done through:

1- Organizing protests, networking with students, unions, churches, community organizations to support BDS and end racism against Palestinians on campuses, mainstream media, and social media platforms. Signing petitions and pressuring MPs and government to end their military and political support of Israel (and impose sanctions) until it complies with UN resolutions and International Law.

2- Fundraising events for hospitals/ medical aid emergency responses, and bail funds for detainees with no legal representation.

3- Offer mental health support, hold conversations with people on the ground, and provide spaces for grief, rage, and collective healing.
