Welcome to AWARE India's Club - SAFE SPACE TALKS, a space to be yourself!

Sexuality, Menstruation, Feminism, Masculinity, Mental Health... we often shy away from a healthy discussion of such topics. Perhaps we are too polite or non-confrontational when it comes to speaking our mind. Or we pretend to be in agreement when we really are not. The problem in our society being that we are generally averse to conflict and disagreement. We think to disagree is to disrespect.

Often, when people raise questions of a sensitive nature, they are asked to take the conversation elsewhere. So where can one find a safe zone for open dialogue?

This is why we created this club where we curate dialogues on topics that are unspoken, unrealizable, unanswerable and unacknowledged!

The idea is to have conversations where we can remove the stigma, discomfort and move out with better understanding. Attendees will have opportunities for discussions, debates and Q&A sessions, to air differing points of views.

Try to stay on topic in a given thread and category. Conversations will take a naturally winding course, but please ensure to not take a thread in a completely new direction.

Be transparent
Let’s be transparent and honest with our intentions, identity, and behavior in the community. Please use your real name with your account when possible, and never intentionally attempt to mislead other members. This is a collective of peers working together and collaboration is so much richer when everyone comes to it with integrity and clarity.

Stay quirky
Mindful of the above, let’s be constructive and not take ourselves too argumentative! Be curious, experiment, share ideas, and take the time to bring light to someone’s day!
