Description

The Hauntological Society is a place to discuss topics around things such as the writings of Mark Fisher, 70s TV, half remembered ephemera, the music of labels like Ghost Box, library music, public information materials, British folk horror stories and Italian giallo films.
“To haunt dose not mean to be present, and it is not necessary to introduce haunting into the very construction of a concept.”
The term was coined by Derrida as a portmanteau of “haunt” and “ontology” in 1993 in his book The Spectres of Marx in 1993.
Made with the blessing of Richard J. Lockley-Hobson (not on CH) who is on Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook under the same name.
